Dear Friends:
Exciting things are happening at the Cancer Support Community! We have high hopes that summer 2013 will pave the way for the Center’s unprecedented success. To this end, we are thrilled to reach out with the news that a generous donor has agreed to match every dollar we raise up to $50,000 between now and June 30th!
That means in the next 50 days we have the chance to bring $100,000 into the Center to continue to deliver counseling, education and emotional care to people with cancer and to those who love them.
The Cancer Support Community stands alone in our region as the sole resource for people in cancer crisis to turn to for free support provided by licensed professionals in an accredited environment. Our program calendar is robust and growing.
Every day new members come through our doors, looking for solace and support;
Every week we continue to expand our outreach and offer critical psycho-social services to your neighbors throughout Monmouth and Ocean Counties; and
Just last year we had 15,695 contacts with members and delivered 12,981 complimentary service hours and experienced a 454% increase in phone counseling services.
Today, we find ourselves facing both a daunting crisis, and an incredible opportunity: many of our community members have suffered the double trauma of a devastating cancer diagnosis and the loss of their homes due to Super Storm Sandy. While the need for our services has increased, many corporate funding sources and foundations have redirected their support to Sandy Relief, leaving us with a precarious gap that must be filled.
Your gift is a meaningful way to directly impact the health and well being of local cancer patients, and to ensure that our members have a safe haven where they can laugh, cry, learn and heal.
Please don’t delay your support! Help us to continue the mission we set out on six years ago. By donating today your neighbors and friends will remain confident that no matter what uncertainties life may bring, one thing is for sure: at the Cancer Support Community, Diney Goldsmith Center, no one has to face cancer alone.
With heartfelt thanks,
Marybeth Maida
